Stetinden and Tysfjord experience

Finally I manage to do a kind of a flight up in Stetinden. Been there several times during the winter without luck with the weather. The plan was to Ally canoe into the starting point in Tysfjord, to manage to ascend Presttind south of Stetind and fly from there into Stetind and climb to the “fortopp” to do an other flight down to the sea.

On way up on Prestind.

Weather put me down on canoeing and Presttind. Took a chance just for Stetinden. Managed to accent Prestind on the eastern side by advice from local man I met. But with the wind from North is was impossible for me to take off from there, and ended up with a short flight down. Clouds was hanging down into the summits almost all day.  Was waiting for hours, just sitting in my Bergans down jacket behind some stones. Late evening I took a chance to walk up to Halls Fortopp, but the clouds was hanging lower than the summit and decided to just do a flight if the northerly wind would let me go.

The sunset was close, and was in a hurry. And I got a very nice flight, feeling and view on my way down with some good turbulence. Wished it had been more light, when not daring flying down to the see because it was get a bit to little light.

Chose to do a kind of a safe landing up in the valley instead of taking chances down at the sea.

Had a fight with a birch tree, and I won. Needed log for the fire.
