It appears, surprisingly, it has gone 10 years since we did “the reconstruction” of the Amundsen and Scott race to the South Pole. The whole thing ended up in 6 hours programs on BBC and several other channels. I just bought three DVD´s on Amazone, when understanding I did not have the programs, and to ensure I´ve got them.

The project and the expedition is something I would never ever been without. I was lucky to be asked, and clever enough to say yes to this adventure. A big project constructed, developed and executed by KEO Films with Andrew Palmer in front. The Amundsen team, John Huston, Inge Solheim, Harald Kippenes, Ketil Reitan and me had an experience of life. Some of us did not know each other before we started, but we knew the quality of another. Different qualities to cover all challenges. And all agree and focused on two main goals,  and we became a winning team.

Not surprisingly with the best engine on Greenland, the Greenland dogs, and 48 of them at the beginning, “Scott-team” could never win against our dog team and two good dog mushers, Ketil and John.

On the other hand, they definitely had the hardest challenge, which I still today, do not envious them. The experience and thoughts I have after: it is impossible to copy what happened in 1910 – 1911, but we got a good taste of it. And even bigger respect for the real teams and their effort. Still have problems with Scotts planning and how he led his men…
